There was a film dedicated to the Opel Manta released in 1991 based around street racing and more beleivable than the F&F franchise. I saw Orlove say he liked Mantas and it reminded me of this film. it is in German but I once saw a subtitled version on YouTube which has since been pulled. Still, here's a trailer, Enjoy!

Opel had some much awesome cars in its history, it is so sad that now you don't get anything really interesting. Yes they have opc, but those cars are worse when compared to their rivals.
Sadly this will not happen, with Chevy leaving Europe. I had hopes that GM will turn Opel into somewhat intersting brand. with them having Chevy here, but with Chevrolet not having success, Opel is poised to stay the more or less in the same form.

I downloaded it before it got pulled. [[honhonhon]]
I also watched the less well known Manta Der Film, of which I could find no subtitled version. All I needed to see was that six-wheeled Manta racing after it got split in half with the Final Countdown playing the background.

my favourite part was where Klaus pissed in his boots then put them on, that was fucking hilarious.

Well, after seeing this earlier I can't help but think that the 80s were like that...it is so ridiculously true at some points. If you look at german modifing culture during the 80s and early 90s, the cars really looked like that and have since never occured in a that madly executed detail-rich variety which was all but pleasent for most.
